I Have to!
How often have you or someone you know been in a difficult situation, a situation that could either become positive or negative, and the person involved says, "well I have to do it".
An example is someone who may be overweight to the point that it is affecting their health. They may be discussing the issue with someone or they may be thinking about it in their own mind. The resultant thinking is that they need to lose weight or do something to bring about that loss and their final thought or mind set to it is that, "I have to".
The problem with this is that it sets up an ability to quit trying before all hope is lost. What does this mean? In any endeavour the ability to go all the way or until it simply is no longer possible, that means full and 100% effort, is rarely achieved. We generally either achieve the task or goal before fully expending our effort or we quit trying, once again before fully expanding our effort. If we are attempting a task or goal and we approach it with the "well I have to", mindset what we are doing is allowing an escape route. That escape route is that the task got beyond our ability.
Why? Because that thought is one of being forced to attempt the task, we give up our ability to choose and tell our mind that we are being forced to do something. When we are being forced to do something we allow ourselves to quit much easier.
If we tell ourselves that, "I choose to" or "I will and I want to" we give ourselves a better chance of success providing we readily and willing accept those thoughts into our mind set.
What is the kicker? That if choosing the mindset of, "I choose to" we are thing that, "I have to" accept that mind set we are back to square one.
Remember many believe that the way you think can bring in big changes in your life. Many use this as the reason why two seeming similar people can have such different levels of success, happiness and love in their lives.
